Description

  • Manage real estate legal support for clean energy and data center development projects across all stages of development.
  • Lead legal support for site control, project acquisitions, late-stage development activities, and related real estate matters.
  • Support M&A and project acquisition transactions involving development-stage projects and real estate assets.
  • Assist with real estate components of broader commercial, development, and operational agreements.
  • Negotiate, review, and manage lease options, purchase options, easements, crossing agreements, and other real estate agreements.
  • Evaluate transaction structures and provide practical legal guidance that balances business objectives and legal risk.
  • Partner with Land, Development, Construction, Operations, and Environmental/Permitting teams to support project execution.
  • Coordinate with and manage outside real estate counsel on drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and closing transactions.
  • Oversee real estate diligence and support transaction execution across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Help develop internal processes, workflows, and best practices within the Real Estate Legal team.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law.
  • 5+ years of experience as a real estate transactional attorney in a law firm and/or in-house legal environment.
  • Experience with real estate agreements used in clean energy, infrastructure, data center, or related industries, including options, leases, purchase and sale agreements, transmission easements, pipeline easements, and title insurance products.
  • Experience supporting complex development projects, acquisitions, or project portfolios involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently manage a high volume of transactions with strong attention to detail and judgment.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with commercial teams and external counsel to negotiate and execute real estate transactions.
  • Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to balance legal risk with practical business considerations and provide commercially focused legal advice.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • An entrepreneurial, collaborative mindset with comfort solving complex problems across functions.

  • Total compensation of $255,000 - $300,000, including base salary plus bonus.
