Description

  • Define and execute the organization's interoperability roadmap aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and executive liaison for interoperability strategy across departments and external partners.
  • Lead and act as project manager for all interoperability projects, owning budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Own the full lifecycle of interoperability projects from planning through execution and delivery.
  • Architect and validate enterprise-grade integration solutions using HL7, FHIR, APIs, SOAP, and ETL pipelines.
  • Drive automation, performance optimization, and robust error handling across interoperability workflows.
  • Collaborate with clients, EMR vendors, and internal teams to define integration requirements, success metrics, and ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead training, knowledge transfer, and change management initiatives for technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ensure effective communication, documentation, and governance across all project phases.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare interoperability, including at least 3 years in a director role.
  • Expertise with Epic EMR interoperability (required).
  • Proven experience with HL7, FHIR, SOAP, APIs, and ETL/data transformation processes.
  • Strong understanding of integration architecture and cloud platforms.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical writing skills.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum environments and project management methodologies.
  • Experience defining and monitoring KPIs and using data-driven insights to guide decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant regulations; experience collaborating with information security teams and conducting audits/risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with evolving interoperability standards such as TEFCA and USCDI and experience evaluating/implementing emerging technologies.
  • Experience leading change management efforts to drive adoption of new interoperability solutions.
