Description

  • Handle daily and weekly operational tasks, high-priority escalations, and program management work related to data privacy and information security.
  • Evaluate vendors’ data collection practices and security postures and communicate Instacart’s security and privacy requirements.
  • Track and report metrics on InfoSec Ops initiatives and business-critical workflows.
  • Assist with large-scale audit readiness efforts.
  • Organize, coordinate, and track cross-functional privacy and security projects across multiple stakeholder teams.
  • Act as the DRI for Trust & Safety privacy and security operations in high-visibility company-wide initiatives, including new market and product surface expansions.
  • Build and maintain workflow documentation for recurring operational processes.
  • Automate and monitor recurring tasks using AI agents.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and drive process improvements to completion.
  • Take on data analysis tasks and reporting to support a small team with company-wide impact.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, risk, legal, or policy operations, ideally in a role with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations around sensitive data.
  • 2+ years of experience taking on elevated responsibilities in a similar operational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and lead complex, high-visibility operational workflows.
  • Track record of driving cross-functional projects to completion.
  • Familiarity with information security and data privacy concepts and vocabulary.
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex privacy and security issues clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Composure and precision when operating in time-sensitive or business-critical situations.
  • Working understanding of business metrics and reporting.
  • Professional experience in information security and data privacy operations, especially vendor risk management operations, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with third-party risk management frameworks is preferred.
  • CIPP/CIPM or SEC+ certification is a big plus.
  • Must be located in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, or Nova Scotia.

Benefits

  • Canadian base salary range of $83,000 to $87,500 CAD.
