Description

  • Translate business requirements into scalable financial data models and analytics solutions.
  • Own ambiguous data initiatives from definition through delivery.
  • Design and automate dashboards, models, and reporting systems for decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Build and maintain data products that support Revenue Accounting, including revenue recognition logic in financial data models.
  • Apply compliance-first design principles to support SOX, audit readiness, and data governance standards.
  • Implement validation, monitoring, and reconciliation frameworks to ensure financial data accuracy and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance and accounting processes through automation and system enhancements.
  • Use AI and modern analytics tools to improve how financial data is modeled, automated, and delivered.
  • Collaborate across Finance, Accounting, Engineering, and other business partners to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and compliant.
  • Help accelerate month-end close and optimize cloud spend in the AWS environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics or analytics engineering, with 7+ years preferred.
  • Strong SQL and cloud data fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, and BI tools such as Mode, Looker, or Tableau.
  • Experience building and supporting complex data pipelines with strong attention to accuracy, compliance, and traceability.
  • Familiarity with financial data structures, accounting processes, and enterprise systems such as Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, or Adaptive.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Public company experience with exposure to SOX compliance is preferred.
  • Experience in high-growth technology environments is preferred.
  • Experience implementing large-scale financial or operational systems, such as ERP or enterprise data platforms, is preferred.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Cloud cost management experience, ideally in AWS, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in data analytics, such as natural language SQL tools, forecasting models, or anomaly detection frameworks, is preferred.

Benefits

  • Flexible remote work through Instacart’s Flex First policy.
  • Market-competitive compensation.
  • Base salary range of $157,000–$165,500 USD for CA, NY, CT, and NJ; $150,000–$158,500 USD for WA; $144,000–$152,000 USD for select states; and $131,000–$138,000 USD for all other states.
  • Eligibility for a new hire equity grant.
  • Eligibility for annual refresh grants.
  • Access to Instacart’s benefits offerings.
  • Ability to choose where you do your best work, including home, an office, or a coffee shop, with regular in-person events.
