Description

  • Lead the end-to-end UX design process for a startup idea or topic of choice.
  • Conduct discovery research by recruiting users, creating research plans, writing interview guides, and leading 8-16 interviews.
  • Synthesize research findings into insights that support product and solution decisions.
  • Develop product scope, feature scope, and overall project management for the startup idea.
  • Identify the target market and position the product for launch success.
  • Create a business model and consider how the product or service scales as the business grows.
  • Deliver UX and business pitches using qualitative and quantitative evidence to justify the problem and solution.
  • Create user-centered design artifacts such as personas, stakeholder maps, journey maps, process maps, service blueprints, sketches, wireframes, workflows, and prototypes.
  • Lead user testing of wireframes and prototypes and iterate to improve usability.
  • Design a design system from scratch, including components, style guide, and branding, and analyze competitors to differentiate the solution.

Requirements

  • Open to new graduates and UX career changers.
  • Interested in creative tech career paths in UX research, UX design, product design, or service design.
  • Able to commit 5-10 hours of work per week to program deliverables.
  • Willing to attend 2-3 hour weekend lectures or complete online video course modules.
  • Open to feedback from UX mentors and willing to revise design work.
  • No UX resume or portfolio required to apply.
  • Able to apply on a rolling basis and complete a brief interview process if selected.
  • Interested in learning through a free 7-month apprenticeship program.
  • Open to applicants from anywhere in the world.
  • AI tools may be used to support parts of the hiring process, but final decisions are made by humans.
