Description

  • Work through the end-to-end UX design and UX research process for a startup idea of your choice.
  • Lead product scoping and feature scoping, along with overall project management for the apprenticeship project.
  • Identify the target market and help position the product or service for launch success.
  • Develop a business model and think through how the solution can scale with the business.
  • Lead discovery research by recruiting users, creating research plans, writing interview guides, and conducting 8-16 interviews.
  • Synthesize interview insights and use both qualitative and quantitative data to support the problem space and solution.
  • Create UX deliverables such as personas, stakeholder maps, journey maps, process maps, service blueprints, ideation matrices, sketches, wireframes, workflows, and prototypes.
  • Lead user testing of wireframes and prototypes and iterate on the solution based on feedback.
  • Design a design system from scratch, including components, style guide, and branding.
  • Consult with startups to define scope of work and complete UX research, UX design, product design, or service design engagements.

Requirements

  • Open to new graduates and UX career changers.
  • Interested in creative tech career paths in UX research, UX design, product design, or service design.
  • Able to commit 5-10 hours of work per week.
  • Able to attend 2-3 hour weekend lectures or complete online video course modules.
  • Open to feedback from UX mentors and willing to revise design work.
  • Willing to apply with a resume; a UX-specific resume or portfolio is not required.
  • Open to applicants who are still exploring multiple career options.
  • Available to go through a brief interview process if selected.
  • Application is reviewed on a rolling basis; if not contacted within 2 months, the application is considered closed.
