Description

Build alongside the team by contributing to backend services, AI workflows, and frontend improvements on the HyperDev platform.
Review code, including AI-generated output, to ensure what ships is clear, testable, and maintainable.
Pair with engineers on difficult problems and help unblock the team day to day.
Define and refine the human-in-the-loop approach to software development, including when AI should lead and when humans should intervene.
Establish practical standards for reviewing AI-assisted work, evaluating RAG pipelines, and keeping outputs predictable.
Mentor engineers through feedback, pairing, and example while fostering a high-quality, curiosity-driven culture.
Help hire and grow the engineering team, including contributing to recruiting and team development.
Work with the founders and broader team to translate product and commercial priorities into technical plans and trade-offs.
Improve CI/CD, testing, observability, and release processes to support fast and reliable delivery.
Treat reliability and security as part of everyday engineering and not as afterthoughts.

Requirements

2+ years as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or leading engineers while remaining hands-on.
6+ years of experience building production software.
Experience shipping at least one production feature using LLM APIs, RAG, or agent workflows.
Professional experience with TypeScript, React, and Python.
Experience building and maintaining third-party integrations in production.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Track record of shipping in environments with evolving priorities.
Experience delivering work end to end without heavy project management support.
Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-moving startup, full-stack development environment.
Preferred experience in an early-stage tech startup (0–50 people) where roles were fluid.
Preferred production use of Langchain, Pydantic AI, or similar frameworks.
Preferred open-source contributions.
Preferred experience growing a team beyond 3–4 people.
