Description

  • Build full-stack features across client and server: implement user-facing UI, design APIs, evolve data models, and implement background jobs.
  • Own outcomes end-to-end: refine scope, propose trade-offs, and deliver incremental value quickly.
  • Design clean API contracts and manage schema evolution and migrations.
  • Improve performance and reliability through query tuning, caching, and job orchestration.
  • Partner with Product and Design from discovery to delivery: clarify user jobs, prototype, and write lightweight RFCs/PRDs to shape scope and milestones.
  • Keep UIs accessible, responsive, and resilient with solid error-handling and failure-mode UX.
  • Raise engineering standards by driving testing strategy, code quality, observability hooks, and resilience patterns.
  • Partner with Support to investigate production issues, reduce UX papercuts, and convert learnings into fixes.
  • Engage with the open-source community (issues, discussions) to understand real-world needs and improve developer experience.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews, mentor teammates, and improve patterns across the codebase.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience shipping production full-stack features combining frontend, backend, and SQL-backed systems.
  • Proven product sense with experience making scope and trade-off decisions and iterating based on real-world usage and feedback.
  • Experience with modern frontend tooling and state-management patterns (examples given: Vite/Webpack, Jest/Cypress).
  • Backend depth in REST API design, relational data modeling, migrations, performance tuning, and background job patterns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication at a Senior IC level, including writing RFCs/PRDs and giving actionable code reviews.
  • Familiarity with testing strategies, observability, and resilience engineering patterns.
  • Nice to have: GraphQL familiarity; Kafka/queues/streaming; Spark/BigQuery; auth/RBAC; multi-tenant SaaS; design-system experience.
  • Comfort working in a collaborative, product-oriented engineering process (trunk-based development, feature flags, small reviewable PRs).
  • Experience working with large-scale data or AI-focused products is a plus (Label Studio / dataset pipelines context).

  • Base cash compensation range: $140,000 to $200,000 USD (final offer depends on experience and other factors).
