Description

  • Deliver low-complexity software projects in alignment with coding standards, testing practices, and company guidelines for security, accessibility, and privacy.
  • Contribute to the team roadmap by asking questions, sharing input, and escalating risks or scope changes promptly.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and team activities while learning from peers and working transparently.
  • Troubleshoot issues, fix minor bugs independently, and collaborate with senior developers on more complex problems.
  • Work with cross-functional teammates and stakeholders to maintain effective communication and positive working relationships.
  • Support the full delivery lifecycle from beta releases through to production-ready, scalable products.
  • Use logging, monitoring, debugging, and root-cause analysis practices to identify and address bugs and outages.
  • Extend existing software modules and components while following architecture concepts and best practices.
  • Follow agile processes and continuous integration/delivery practices to ship stories and own low-complexity epics or projects.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent education/work experience.
  • Some experience developing and maintaining software, including co-op terms or internships.
  • Experience with backend development in Scala or Go, or a strong interest in learning them.
  • Exposure to event-driven or streaming systems such as Kafka, including producing and consuming events and basic troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native deployment tools and platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS (EC2, SQS) in a microservices environment.
  • Basic understanding of monitoring and reliability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Sumologic.
  • Ability to learn and apply root cause analysis, logging, monitoring, and debugging best practices.
  • Ability to follow existing architecture, security, and compliance practices.
  • Experience working in agile teams and with continuous integration and delivery practices.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including participation in technical discussions and understanding input from design and product teams.
