Description

  • Build and operate production backend systems that support Honor’s core services and public digital experiences.
  • Design relational data models and work with databases at scale.
  • Design and maintain APIs and service-oriented backend systems.
  • Consider performance, reliability, and operational quality in backend systems.
  • Collaborate with product, design, data, and care operations teams to deliver cross-functional solutions.
  • Translate complex technical ideas into clear, actionable communication for technical and non-technical partners.
  • Identify inefficiencies in engineering and team processes and recommend improvements.
  • Mentor teammates and contribute to a healthy, inclusive engineering culture.
  • Evolve systems from design through operation with a strong focus on product quality and debugging.
  • Support growth channels that help families discover the care they need.

Requirements

  • Strong backend engineering experience with a track record of building and operating production systems.
  • Experience designing relational data models and working with databases at scale.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, with AWS preferred.
  • Experience with service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience with API design, distributed systems, and backend performance considerations.
  • Proficiency in Python, or transferable backend experience with a willingness to learn Python.
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, Vite, Typescript, and Tailwind.
  • Experience using AI tooling to assist with coding and deployment productivity.
  • Experience working in diverse, cross-functional environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
