Description

  • Design, build, and deliver backend systems and APIs in Go with an emphasis on clarity, maintainability, and backward compatibility.
  • Build and maintain full-stack product features using React, TypeScript, and Go.
  • Collaborate with design and product partners in a triad model from discovery through delivery.
  • Support software in production, including participation in on-call rotations and incident response.
  • Provide technical leadership by defining patterns, operational guidelines, and engineering standards.
  • Plan, lead, and deliver complex multi-team projects while aligning stakeholders and mentoring teammates.
  • Communicate clearly through written and verbal communication, collaboration, and feedback.
  • Help shape billing and pricing infrastructure, access control capabilities, usage APIs, and enterprise authorization features.

Requirements

  • Deep experience designing, building, and maintaining backend systems and APIs.
  • Strong experience with Go or similar backend languages.
  • Professional frontend experience with React and TypeScript.
  • Experience owning projects end-to-end from planning through deployment and maintenance.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers, leading technical design reviews, or raising team quality standards.
  • Experience shipping features to production and investigating/resolving production incidents.
  • Experience with on-call rotations, preferred.
  • Experience implementing authentication and/or authorization solutions such as RBAC, OAuth, SSO, or SAML for SaaS products.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor, or interest in using them.
  • Billing and pricing experience, especially usage-based pricing systems for SaaS products, is a plus.

  • Base salary of $251,900–$283,000 CAD, based on level of experience.
