Description

  • Design and deliver production-grade agents that investigate, reason, and act on live observability data inside Canvas.
  • Own the full agent lifecycle, including scoping, building, shipping, maintaining, and evaluating agents.
  • Build agent capabilities that take advantage of Honeycomb’s high-cardinality data store and fast query performance.
  • Extend Canvas, the Honeycomb MCP server, and Canvas Skills with new agent surface area and functionality.
  • Develop improvements to memory, spatial awareness, and the Bedrock loop.
  • Turn prototypes into reliable production systems that hold up under traffic and high-pressure incident scenarios.
  • Define and maintain measurable standards for agent quality, maintainability, and limitations.
  • Collaborate on some full-stack development as part of the role.

Requirements

  • Experience shipping LLM-based or agent-based systems in production, not just demos or research.
  • Ability to take a project from rough prototype to production-grade implementation with end-to-end ownership.
  • Strong, current judgment on how agent design has changed in the last 6 to 12 months.
  • Understanding of how fast, high-cardinality data stores change agent reasoning and architecture.
  • Ability to identify what the agent layer should do next and make the case with a working prototype.
  • Experience with observability or developer tools, preferred.
  • Familiarity with eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, and prompt engineering, preferred.
  • Comfort building for engineers as the end users.
  • Must be able to verify identity and work eligibility; no visa transfers are supported at this time.

  • Base salary of $183,340 to $206,000 USD, based on experience level.
