Description

  • Contribute design expertise and technical input across a collaborative product, strategy, and engineering team.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design reviews, implementation, and delivery.
  • Help evolve AWS-based backend services and the team’s developing technology stack.
  • Build developer automation that supports scalable, high-quality applications customers rely on.
  • Analyze performance, attribution, and benchmark data as part of the analytics platform’s core functionality.
  • Collaborate in a culture of transparency, learning, teaching, and shared ownership.
  • Approach ambiguous problems creatively, propose solutions, and communicate progress clearly.
  • Support the creation of software that can run complex analytics on large-scale data efficiently.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including architecting and designing new products or technologies.
  • Experience with Kotlin or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with OLAP or columnar databases and query optimization.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling for analytical use cases.
  • Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies while developing domain expertise.
  • Understanding of automated testing at all levels.
  • Ability to balance short-term deliverables with long-term technical perspective.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Preferred: buy-side technology experience.
  • Preferred: experience with Claude Code or Cursor.
  • Preferred: experience building ETL pipelines that load data into OLAP systems.
  • Preferred: familiarity with performance concepts and methodologies such as TWR, Brinson Attribution, and Profit and Loss.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $153,000–$191,000, with a higher range of $168,000–$210,000 in select locations including the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro Area.
