Description

  • Architect, build, and operate scalable microservices on EKS using Go.
  • Develop event-driven, asynchronous workflows with Kafka and MQTT.
  • Design efficient data models and access patterns across RDS MySQL, Neo4J, and ElasticSearch.
  • Improve production readiness through monitoring, alerting, tracing, on-call practices, and root-cause fixes.
  • Lead cross-team technical execution, align stakeholders, and deliver complex work on tight timelines.
  • Own backend service performance, reliability, uptime, latency, and scale outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multiple groups to deliver high-quality, secure results.

Requirements

  • Senior-level backend engineering experience designing and shipping highly scalable production microservices in Go.
  • Proven experience with event-driven, asynchronous architectures using messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka.
  • Strong data engineering and persistence experience with relational databases such as MySQL and at least one of ElasticSearch or Neo4J.
  • Hands-on experience running services on Kubernetes, ideally EKS, including deployment, troubleshooting, and operational ownership.
  • Experience profiling and optimizing distributed systems end-to-end, including latency, throughput, and resource usage (preferred).
  • Experience designing debuggability and observability for distributed applications, including structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and dashboards/alerts (preferred).
  • Experience defining and operationalizing SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, alert policies, and reliability reporting (preferred).
  • Ability to work hybrid from San Jose three days per week or remotely within the Pacific Timezone.
