Description

  • Lead deployment and configuration of x86 servers, Linux systems, virtualization platforms, and core infrastructure services.
  • Design, deploy, and manage virtualized infrastructure using VMware, KVM, Proxmox, or equivalent technologies.
  • Automate bare-metal provisioning, imaging, firmware management, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
  • Deploy and integrate DNS, DHCP, NTP, IPAM, DCIM, identity, access-management, and security platforms.
  • Deploy, optimize, validate, and troubleshoot high-performance distributed storage platforms and file, object, and block storage services.
  • Establish infrastructure baselines, scalable deployment procedures, acceptance criteria, testing plans, and production handoff documentation.
  • Lead integration testing and validate availability, redundancy, failover, performance, recovery procedures, and service dependencies before production deployment.
  • Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for production incidents, performing root-cause analysis and corrective-action planning.
  • Develop diagnostic tooling, automation, runbooks, and monitoring standards to improve reliability and reduce operational overhead.
  • Collaborate with NOC, SRE, data hall technicians, engineering teams, security teams, and vendors on critical issues, upgrades, and capacity expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience engineering and operating enterprise, cloud, HPC, or large-scale data center infrastructure.
  • Expert-level Linux systems administration, troubleshooting, automation, and infrastructure integration experience.
  • Experience with enterprise x86 platforms, virtualization technologies, and automated provisioning solutions.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and supporting high-performance or distributed storage platforms; WEKA or VAST Data experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IPAM, identity management, SSO, SAML/OIDC, RBAC, and core infrastructure services.
  • Experience with Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent automation technologies.
  • Familiarity with security infrastructure, compliance requirements, monitoring, enterprise authentication, and privileged access management.
  • Experience supporting AI/HPC clusters, GPU infrastructure, or large-scale distributed computing environments is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel to data centers and support critical incidents or maintenance outside regular business hours; hybrid or remote work depends on location.
