Description

  • Identify news-driven trading opportunities in collaboration with traders and researchers.
  • Maintain and update core market themes by communicating material information.
  • Build and maintain a detailed calendar of material events.
  • Identify key sources of breaking news across tracked themes.
  • Work with developers to streamline ingestion of key news sources.
  • Monitor real-time content flows and alert traders and researchers to potential opportunities.
  • Build high-precision, high-recall automated alerts for themes of interest.
  • Prioritize, enable, disable, and update alerts as market conditions change.
  • Review alerts continuously to ensure they remain relevant, robust, and resilient.
  • Direct development of the real-time event monitoring and alerting system.
  • Perform QA/UAT and test releases of alerts and product updates to meet quality standards.

Requirements

  • Prior experience at a trading firm, hedge fund, market intelligence provider, or financial news organization.
  • Experience identifying and generating alpha from news.
  • Deep understanding of real-time information flows and their effect on price formation.
  • Familiarity with news dissemination and tracking high-impact sources, individuals, and topics in real time.
  • Familiarity with precision and recall scoring methods for optimizing alert systems.
  • Experience using social media aggregation platforms such as X Pro (TweetDeck).
  • Experience working with unstructured data and text analytics.
  • Experience with market data, financial data charting, and analytics.
  • Proficiency in scripting or query languages such as Python, Rust, or SQL.
  • High attention to detail and ability to track multiple market themes simultaneously.
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure in fast-moving market events.
  • Excellent communication skills for sharing insights with traders and researchers.
  • Experience with TradMedia platforms such as Bloomberg, LSEG/Refinitiv, or Dow Jones (preferred).
  • Strong network within the ecosystem and familiarity with key influencers, news sources, and information channels (preferred).
