Description

  • Set and evolve the technical strategy for end-to-end test automation across the full product pipeline.
  • Drive the AI-first test automation approach, including AI-assisted authoring, self-healing automation, and LLM-driven triage.
  • Architect and own post-deployment testing, including production smoke tests, synthetic monitoring, and continuous validation.
  • Design test depth and rigor based on software safety classification and associated evidence requirements.
  • Author complex test plans, protocols, and reports and establish standards and templates under the company QMS.
  • Lead tool validation strategy for test infrastructure and automation tooling in partnership with RA/QA.
  • Architect, build, and improve UI and mobile automation using Selenium and Playwright across web and desktop applications.
  • Define API, integration, and contract testing standards using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, and Karate.
  • Define testing standards for medical imaging, clinical data interoperability, and report/document output validation.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and RA/QA leaders to translate requirements into verifiable test strategies with traceability.
  • Own the relationship between requirements management and traceability tooling to ensure audit-ready evidence.
  • Lead root-cause investigations on high-impact issues and drive systemic prevention of recurrence.
  • Define how automated tests are integrated into CI/CD for fast and reliable engineering feedback.
  • Serve as a technical owner for quality audits, CAPAs, and regulatory submissions.
  • Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, and help shape hiring for future Test Engineering roles.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of experience in software test engineering, SDET, or quality engineering, with hands-on technical leadership.
  • Substantial experience testing Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) or other regulated medical device software.
  • Deep working knowledge of medical device QMS practices and standards such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Selenium/WebDriver and Playwright, including large-scale stability, flake reduction, and parallel execution.
  • Track record designing, scaling, and maintaining E2E automation frameworks for complex workflows and system integrations.
  • Experience setting test plan, protocol, and report standards with rigorous requirements traceability.
  • Demonstrated leadership in adopting AI-assisted testing tools and techniques.
  • Strong programming skills in at least one automation language such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or C#.
  • Deep experience with API and contract testing tools or approaches such as REST Assured, Postman, Karate, or Pact.
  • Strong experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and working with cloud environments such as AWS.
  • Excellent analytical and debugging skills across distributed systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for influencing cross-functional partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Direct experience with requirements and traceability tools such as Ketryx, Jama, or Polarion is preferred.
  • Experience with DICOM, HL7, regulatory audits, ML/AI systems, medical imaging, desktop automation, performance testing, or quality metrics is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $190,000 to $250,000.
  • Bonus compensation.
