Description

  • Provide engineering support for fairing refurbishment, testing, and re-flight.
  • Develop and execute procedures for integration and testing of fairing flight hardware and ground support equipment.
  • Support both customer and Starlink missions through launch hardware preparation and test execution.
  • Collaborate daily with engineering staff and technicians to disposition nonconformances.
  • Execute the launch manifest while coordinating across departments and operations teams.
  • Manage and track multiple priorities while supporting program goals to improve reliability and reduce labor hours.
  • Work on rapid and reliable processing methods for recovered fairings from the edge of space.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and/or fluid systems; class projects and internship experience qualify.
  • Proficiency or hands-on experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft integration, clean room operations, test operations with gases/fluids, or data acquisition and field measurements.
  • Experience writing test plans and test procedures.
  • Experience interacting with CAD software and large CAD models.
  • Experience working with high pressure systems, crane operations, or large structure test stands.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles and responsibilities in a high-paced, challenging work environment.
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate clearly and accurately with a wide range of people.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to pass an Air Force background check for Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and/or in tight spaces.
  • Willingness to travel, potentially for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform physical work including standing, lifting, and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment up to 35 lbs.
  • Availability to work extended hours, nights, and weekends when required by mission milestones.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or be eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

  • Base salary range of $100,000 to $117,500 for Level 1 and $115,000 to $140,000 for Level 2.
