Description

  • Develop and execute transmission and interconnection strategies for the development pipeline.
  • Identify transmission opportunities that improve project economics and market access.
  • Lead due diligence for greenfield developments, acquisitions, and joint venture opportunities.
  • Oversee interconnection activities from application through commercial operation across utilities, ISOs, and RTOs.
  • Direct feasibility, system impact, facility, and restudy interconnection studies.
  • Resolve interconnection challenges, network upgrade requirements, and cost allocation issues.
  • Lead and mentor a team of transmission, interconnection, and grid integration professionals.
  • Provide technical oversight of power flow analysis, system modeling, generator interconnection studies, and transmission evaluations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and represent the company with utilities, regulators, and industry organizations.
  • Partner with internal teams on project valuation, financial modeling, risk assessments, and project handoffs.
  • Manage consultants, engineering firms, and technical service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in transmission planning, interconnection, utility-scale power generation, or renewable energy development.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience.
  • Experience working with major ISOs and RTOs, including CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, MISO, SPP, NYISO, or ISO-NE.
  • Strong understanding of transmission planning, generation interconnection, and wholesale power markets.
  • Knowledge of FERC, NERC, and transmission regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience supporting utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, wind, or other generation projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Experience with energy storage interconnection and grid integration preferred.
  • Familiarity with production cost modeling, power flow studies, and transmission planning tools preferred.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Energy Systems, or a related discipline preferred.
