Description

  • Lead power flow and economic studies to assess interconnection viability for renewable energy projects.
  • Perform technical reviews of Feasibility, System Impact, and Facilities interconnection study reports.
  • Collaborate with utilities, ISOs, consultants, and internal teams to resolve study issues and improve interconnection outcomes.
  • Negotiate Generator Interconnection Agreements, amendments, Facility Construction Agreements, and related documents.
  • Monitor interconnection agreement milestones and manage compliance through commercial operation date.
  • Support M&A due diligence by reviewing interconnection documents and briefing Development and Commercial teams on findings.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering, development, commercial, and finance teams on project analysis and interconnection strategy.
  • Track tariffs, queue dynamics, transmission upgrades, costs, timelines, and market processes across multiple markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with utilities and ISOs to track interconnection progress and keep projects on schedule.
  • Mentor and train junior interconnection planning engineers on load flow simulations and grid capacity analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree and/or MBA preferred.
  • PE license preferred but not required.
  • 10 years of transmission and interconnection planning experience on renewable projects.
  • At least 2 years of experience with utility-scale solar photovoltaic and energy storage projects.
  • Experience in development or transmission planning at a utility, ISO/RTO, or project developer.
  • Proficiency with GE PSLF, Siemens PSS/E, PROMOD, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience working with utilities, consulting firms, ISO/RTOs, and regulators.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience executing projects from inception through development and engineering with strong power engineering and interconnection tariff knowledge.
  • Preferred experience performing due diligence for solar and energy storage assets.

Benefits

  • $180,000 to $200,000 annual salary.
