Description

  • Expand functionality of existing SaaS products focused on tax collection, electronic payments, and bond auctions.
  • Customize systems to meet clients' unique requirements and integrate client-specific features.
  • Design and improve relational data models and backend services, with the majority of time spent on backend development.
  • Develop new products and features from the ground up and contribute to feature planning and implementation.
  • Collaborate in Agile teams and work with cross-functional stakeholders to define, deliver, and iterate on solutions.
  • Contribute to front-end work when needed (e.g., Vue.js, jQuery, Ajax) and assist across different projects as priorities change.
  • Use version control (git) and work in Linux (Ubuntu) environments to maintain high code quality and consistency.
  • Integrate and operate with supporting systems and frameworks such as messaging (rabbitmq), ETL/scheduling (NiFi), and data warehousing (Exasol).

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of full-time software development experience.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality code in at least one common language (examples: Python, Java, C++, C#, Ruby) and the capacity to learn new stacks quickly.
  • Experience designing and improving relational data models in databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work effectively on a team.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development processes.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn tools and languages such as Perl, Go, Windsurf (AI code editor), git, Linux (Ubuntu), Vue.js, jQuery, Ajax, MySQL, Exasol, rabbitmq, and NiFi.
  • U.S.-based remote work eligibility and willingness to travel minimally (1–2 weeks per year) for on-site meetings.
  • Working camera required for video interviews.
  • Willingness to receive training and guidance on internal tools and processes.
