Description

  • Design and implement scalable integrations for infrastructure components, databases, and applications.
  • Create middleware components, SDKs, and libraries that simplify observability solution development and maintenance.
  • Work with product, design, and documentation teams to build features aligned with product strategy and customer needs.
  • Help shape the technical direction and long-term vision of the observability product area.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Support to deliver a cohesive customer experience.
  • Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations and own the services you run.
  • Represent Grafana Labs in open source forums, working groups, and events when needed.
  • Contribute to adjacent open source projects and communities beyond the immediate team scope.
  • Estimate, plan, coordinate, and deliver large cross-system initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor other team members and help resolve technical and process issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with at least one programming language; Go experience is not required, but a willingness to learn Go is expected.
  • Deep knowledge of at least one major cloud provider, including core services, APIs, identity and access models, networking, and operational patterns.
  • Experience with cloud-based software development and production systems.
  • Experience writing clean, maintainable, robust, and performant software.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience driving projects from ideation to production.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience participating in on-call rotations and incident management.
  • Experience designing and building observability backends for various systems and applications (preferred).
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining open source projects, with successful pull requests and community collaboration (preferred).
  • Understanding of metrics collection, visualization, and alerting concepts (preferred).
  • Relevant open source experience, ideally in the observability domain.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, work independently, and operate effectively in a remote-first environment.
  • Must be based in the UK, Spain, Germany, or Sweden.

  • Base compensation in Spain of €82,988 - €99,586, with pay varying by location, experience, and skillset.
