Description

  • Lead the Corporate Engineering team across corporate systems, employee device lifecycles, helpdesk queues, and internal tooling development.
  • Own the optimization of the current IT operations stack and drive the internal AI-native strategy.
  • Build processes and systems that push decision-making closer to the information and enable teams to experiment and own their workflows.
  • Manage corporate security initiatives by deploying security and compliance guardrails within employee workflows.
  • Define and support the organization’s internal AI rollout, enablement, and security strategy across all teams.
  • Manage relationships, negotiations, and contracts with core SaaS vendors.
  • Make work and costs visible to internal stakeholders and use that visibility to continuously improve processes.
  • Leverage Grafana products and the broader ecosystem to solve corporate engineering challenges, and open source useful solutions when possible.
  • Provide 1:1s, coaching, mentoring, and continuous feedback to team members.
  • Participate in work queues, review design documents, and share on-call responsibility with the team and department.

Requirements

  • Experience running a software engineering operations team.
  • Strong engineering background with the ability to engage in technical conversations and guide strong technical decisions.
  • At least one cloud provider knowledge and working knowledge of Kubernetes.
  • Deep hands-on experience managing and automating corporate IT systems across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
  • Experience with SSO tools such as Okta and 1Password, workplace tools such as Google Workspace and Office, MDM tools such as Jamf, Intune, FleetDM, and Kolide, and corporate SaaS platforms such as Salesforce and Zendesk.
  • Experience with EDR, DLP, managing employee laptops and devices, and other modern corporate IT/security tooling.
  • DevOps mindset with a preference for enablement, automation, and guardrails over gates and roadblocks.
  • Knowledge of the current AI state of the art and ideas for applying it safely across the enterprise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be able to work Eastern-time oriented hours with overlap for EMEA peers.
  • Technical background in programming or software engineering before moving into leadership is a plus.
  • Go experience, multiple cloud providers experience, and Kubernetes expertise are a plus.
  • Experience leveraging and securing AI tooling for non-development, code, and agentic automation use cases is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Grafana Labs OSS projects and observability tooling is a plus.
  • Experience working with open-source communities is a plus.
