Description

  • Design, build, operate, and maintain critical backend systems responsible for alert ingestion, evaluation, and delivery.
  • Drive projects end-to-end from ideation and requirements gathering through implementation, deployment, and production operations.
  • Influence team roadmap and set personal career objectives while prioritizing customer needs and product outcomes.
  • Deliver new features with iterative improvements based on production results and customer feedback.
  • Own reliability, performance, and availability of services, including participating in on-call rotations.
  • Collaborate closely with teammates, Grafana Cloud teams, and customers to ensure on-prem and cloud parity and scalability.
  • Contribute to Grafana’s open-source projects and collaborate on work outside the immediate team scope.
  • Mentor and support other engineers, participate in design discussions, and help shape technical direction.

Requirements

  • Motivated self-starter with a bias toward action and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively in a remote-first engineering organization.
  • Solid experience with at least one programming language (Go preferred; Python, Java, C++, Rust or similar are applicable).
  • Experience delivering projects end-to-end, from gathering requirements to shipping to customers in a self-driven way.
  • Experience developing software that runs in the Cloud or background in systems engineering.
  • Experience building or operating distributed/scalable backend systems and writing clean, robust, performant, maintainable code.
  • Pragmatic approach to breaking down complex problems, delivering MVPs, gathering feedback, and iterating.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of production services.
  • Willingness to engage with and contribute to open-source codebases and community-driven projects.

  • Spain compensation range: EUR 82,988 - EUR 99,586 (country-specific; other locations will have market-defined ranges).
