Description

  • Manage and develop the Alloy engineering team, including regular feedback and career development conversations.
  • Support the team’s collaboration with the OpenTelemetry collector community and help remove roadblocks.
  • Collaborate with go-to-market teams to ensure customers and prospects are successful with Alloy.
  • Work with product and engineering leadership to ensure Alloy fits the Grafana Cloud end-to-end user experience.
  • Guide projects from early ideation through planning, execution, and post-launch to deliver high-quality results.
  • Foster a psychologically safe environment that supports experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Work across team boundaries and partner with other functions to solve customer problems.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects beyond the immediate team scope.
  • Help the team deliver consistent outcomes in a fully remote, distributed environment.

Requirements

  • Experience managing engineering teams with responsibility for coaching, feedback, and career development.
  • Domain knowledge in observability and OpenTelemetry.
  • Ability to work effectively with autonomous engineering teams.
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills, with experience collaborating across time zones and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, align stakeholders, and elevate team performance.
  • Deep customer focus with decisions grounded in user needs and real-world impact.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and observability.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted development tools and ideally practical experience incorporating them into team workflows.
  • Preferred: familiarity with the OpenTelemetry collector community.
  • This is a remote role for candidates in NASA (EST-only) or EMEA time zones.

  • Base compensation in Spain of EUR 94,000 to EUR 117,500, with actual pay varying by level, experience, and skillset.
