Description

  • Oversee and execute end-to-end payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payroll runs.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, reporting requirements, and other payroll rules in supported jurisdictions.
  • Calculate statutory deductions, benefits, and remittances accurately.
  • Conduct payroll reconciliations, audits, and compliance checks on a regular basis.
  • Stay current on payroll legislation changes and implement required updates to processes and systems.
  • Lead onboarding and implementation of payroll solutions for new and transitioning German clients, including Blue Ocean system and DATEV implementation.
  • Advise clients on payroll best practices, system configurations, and process optimizations.
  • Troubleshoot payroll issues and deliver timely, accurate resolutions.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Implementation, IT, product teams, external partners, vendors, and authorities to align payroll processes and support improvements.
  • Develop and maintain payroll documentation, SOPs, training materials, and deliver payroll training sessions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll audits and coordinate documentation, responses, and issue resolution with stakeholders and authorities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of payroll experience, including hands-on processing and compliance oversight.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll legislation, tax regulations, and employment standards.
  • Experience with payroll system implementations, process improvements, and automation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex payroll issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain payroll concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with DATEV is required.
  • Strong proficiency in payroll software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
  • Payroll certification is preferred.
  • Fluency in English and German is required.
  • Multilingual proficiency is a plus, depending on the regions supported.
