Description

  • Lead reliability and operational improvement initiatives across the Commerce platform.
  • Own critical production systems and drive incident response, post-incident reviews, and long-term improvements.
  • Design, build, and enhance cloud infrastructure, automation, observability, and deployment platforms.
  • Partner with engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, and product teams on technical challenges and operational risk.
  • Use automation, AI-assisted tools, and data-driven insights to reduce toil and accelerate delivery.
  • Mentor engineers and influence practices that improve reliability across the Commerce organization.
  • Contribute to technical direction by identifying improvements to systems, processes, and operational maturity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience operating, troubleshooting, and improving large-scale production systems in cloud environments.
  • Strong expertise with AWS, Linux, Kubernetes, and modern infrastructure engineering practices.
  • Experience building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code, automation solutions, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven experience leading production incidents, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing reliability improvements.
  • Strong software engineering or scripting skills in Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar languages.
  • Experience using observability data, monitoring, and operational metrics to improve system performance and decision-making.
  • Ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives, manage competing priorities, and deliver across multiple teams.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions and engineering standards.
  • Preferred: experience with SaltStack, Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK; shared infrastructure; eCommerce or payments; SLO/SLI frameworks; architecture planning; or AI-assisted engineering tools.
