Description

  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build features and improvements.
  • Extend and maintain API and back-end systems.
  • Work directly with the PostgreSQL cluster.
  • Improve and expand the testing environment.
  • Solve technical challenges across architecture, security, anti-fraud, performance, scalability, personalization, optimization, and payments.
  • Contribute to code reviews and team processes as a supportive senior engineer.
  • Keep up with development trends in server-side technologies.
  • Mentor and sponsor other engineers in areas of expertise.
  • Coordinate and communicate across technical and product teams.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Use LLMs where appropriate to improve product and development workflows.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or architecting one or more production web applications.
  • Knowledge of API design, database design, naming, and simplifying complex services.
  • Understanding of operational concerns such as deployment, migrations, configuration, and provisioning.
  • Professional experience with Ruby on Rails with Sorbet, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
  • Experience working in cross-functional engineering environments (implied by the role).
