Description

  • Document real-time patient encounters during virtual or recorded consultations using EMRs such as Epic, AthenaNet/AthenaHealth, Cerner, or NextGen.
  • Accurately capture patient histories, physical exam findings, diagnostic impressions, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
  • Update and maintain charts, medication lists, allergies, and problem lists.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as templating notes and preparing visit summaries.
  • Review prior records to provide context for current visits.
  • Communicate with providers to clarify details and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Ensure all documentation is HIPAA-compliant and meets clinical and legal standards.
  • Handle sensitive patient data with strong attention to detail and discretion.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • 1–2 years of experience as a medical scribe or in a clinical documentation role.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows.
  • A healthcare-related degree is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with EMRs such as Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth is a plus.
  • HIPAA Certification is a plus.
  • Fast and accurate typing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and focus.
  • Open to working night shifts.
  • Primary system: Intel Core i5-6000 (6th Gen or higher) or AMD Ryzen 5 or higher, 8 GB RAM, Windows 11 64-bit or macOS Ventura, and a USB noise-cancelling headset with clear video camera.
  • Backup system: same baseline computer specs, or a UPS capable of powering the workstation for at least 3 hours (typically 240Wh or higher) with room for required plugs.
  • Primary internet connection: DSL/Fiber with at least 100 mb/s contracted speed.
  • Backup internet connection: at least 20 mb/s cellular internet.
  • Recommended system: Intel Core i7/i9/Core Ultra or AMD Ryzen 7 or higher, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 64-bit or macOS Tahoe, and a USB noise-cancelling headset with clear video camera.
  • Recommended primary internet connection: DSL/Fiber with at least 500 mb/s contracted speed.
  • Recommended backup internet connection: at least 20 mb/s via cell or wired connection.
