Description

  • Define and drive backend architecture for AI governance systems covering auditability, policy enforcement, and enterprise reporting.
  • Design the AI audit event system, including schemas, pipelines, storage patterns, retention, and export surfaces.
  • Build and guide integrations between the Duo Agent Platform and governance capabilities to observe and control agent actions.
  • Design tool and registry governance foundations, including metadata models, permissions, and managed tool controls.
  • Define backend foundations for a declarative policy framework that governs agent and tool usage under specific conditions.
  • Review major merge requests and contribute to technical RFCs to maintain architectural consistency and implementation quality.
  • Mentor engineers and provide design guidance and feedback to improve team effectiveness and technical decision-making.
  • Partner with engineering teams to align governance architecture with existing platform patterns and product direction.

Requirements

  • Strong experience designing and operating backend systems at scale, especially in auditability, governance, or compliance domains.
  • Deep knowledge of authorization and access control patterns, including RBAC, ABAC, and policy-as-code approaches.
  • Strong Ruby on Rails experience in production SaaS environments.
  • Strong Python experience, especially in AI services, orchestration layers, or service integrations.
  • Experience designing REST APIs and GraphQL APIs for internal or external platform use.
  • Familiarity with high-scale data and storage systems such as Postgres and ClickHouse.
  • Proven experience guiding large, cross-team technical efforts in an async, RFC-driven engineering environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly in writing and discussion, make sound tradeoffs, and influence technical direction across teams in a remote setting.
