Description

  • Draft background briefs to support ongoing research and analysis.
  • Organise training programmes and assist with project delivery.
  • Collect, synthesize, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Monitor developments in regions of interest and track relevant updates.
  • Contribute to written reports and presentations.
  • Support evidence-based advisory work and field research activities.
  • Assist the team in developing grounded, sustainable solutions for clients.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a master's or doctorate degree, or apprenticeship (level 7 or above), in history, political science, international development, security studies, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, a degree in economics, international development, statistics, data science, engineering, or a related field with a quantitative and IT background.
  • Strong research and analysis skills for qualitative information, or proven experience with quantitative analysis and statistical methods.
  • Ability to estimate relationships in data and perform predictive analysis using statistical and econometric techniques.
  • Experience with one or more database or programming languages such as Python, R, Stata, SQL, No-SQL, or similar.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills are preferred.
  • A collaborative mindset and solid attention to detail are preferred.
  • An inquisitive attitude, eagerness to learn, and an international outlook are preferred.
  • Knowledge of additional languages, preferably Amharic, Oromo, Somali, or Arabic, is preferred.
