Description

  • Own curriculum design and development for a high-priority project from planning through launch and ongoing iteration.
  • Lead project management, create supplementary user resources, and build internal documentation and content lifecycle processes.
  • Consult on AI systems integration and ensure curriculum aligns with AI literacy, educational standards, and learning frameworks.
  • Manage an existing programmatic curriculum portfolio and plan for its expansion onto a new platform.
  • Translate high-level curriculum maps into scope and sequences, project plans, development roadmaps, and consultant briefs.
  • Supervise and support a small team of curriculum consultants or part-time staff with feedback, accountability, and clear direction.
  • Partner with the Curriculum team to incorporate community feedback, testing, and youth voice into curriculum products.
  • Contribute to internal team processes, documentation, and systems to maintain coherence and consistency across programs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Tech, Research, Programs, Marketing, and Development on updates, alignment, problem-solving, and reporting.
  • Support the Director of Curriculum with strategy, goal development, team planning, project management, and professional development.
  • Represent the Curriculum team at local and national computer science education events and share Girls Who Code’s insights with external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of applicable experience developing curriculum in computer science, STEAM, or related domains.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing or supervising the work of others.
  • Teaching experience with grades 6-12 or college-aged students from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Strong familiarity with Understanding by Design, Universal Design for Learning, Project-Based Learning, and/or Inquiry-Based Learning.
  • Ability to apply instructional design techniques and learning theory across program-level and short-form curriculum planning.
  • Strong content creation skills with editorial and graphic design instincts for student, teacher, and volunteer-facing materials.
  • Experience using generative AI tools to develop, refine, or translate content while checking for bias, accuracy, and context.
  • Active interest in AI, emerging technologies, and computer science education trends and methodologies.
  • Comfort adjusting work to evolving priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with at least one text-based programming language such as Python, JavaScript (p5.js), Swift, Java, or Arduino.
  • Strong project management skills and experience juggling multiple workstreams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or Education field, or commensurate demonstrable experience in STEM (preferred).
  • Experience developing video tutorials or video-based lessons (preferred).
  • Experience managing a team of curriculum developers or content contributors (preferred).
  • Experience building AI-specific curriculum (preferred).
  • Experience building STEM curriculum aligned to career pathways (preferred).
  • Experience collaborating closely with a tech product team (preferred).
  • Experience developing curriculum for diverse student needs, including ELLs, students with special needs, and international students (preferred).

Benefits

  • $97,000 - $121,000 annual salary range.
  • Remote work option, with the role also listed for New York City.
