Description

  • Own and align backend, frontend, platform, and infrastructure decisions into a coherent enterprise architecture.
  • Lead efforts to retire scalability and reliability debt and safely upgrade critical infrastructure.
  • Drive technical standards for testing strategies, validation guardrails, and system design decisions.
  • Modernize and scale production systems using database-level strategies and platform primitives.
  • Provide architectural guidance across the stack, from database internals to distributed service patterns.
  • Mentor senior engineers and establish shared practices and terminology across the team.
  • Build a deeper understanding of data systems, latency-sensitive services, and failure modes.
  • Help reduce single-threaded dependencies and improve delivery speed and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Expertise in performance-sensitive REST APIs, caching strategies, and distributed systems concepts.
  • Expert-level PostgreSQL experience, including upgrades, query tuning, replication tradeoffs, and schema evolution.
  • Advanced SQL experience.
  • Deep experience with Azure and/or AWS.
  • Production-grade Kubernetes and Docker experience.
  • Strong production experience in Node.js and/or Python.
  • Hands-on experience with observability tools, including logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Experience with CI/CD, SRE fundamentals such as SLIs/SLOs, and security hygiene including IAM and secrets management.
  • Experience in logistics, warehouse systems, or robotics-adjacent platforms is preferred.
  • Ability to reason about scaling challenges such as multi-regional architectures or advanced data governance is preferred.
