Description

  • Oversee day-to-day Security Operations Center (SOC) operations, including monitoring, analysis, and response to security alerts and incidents.
  • Identify, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats using monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, and other security technologies.
  • Lead or support incident response activities, including root cause analysis, mitigation, and post-incident reporting.
  • Develop and maintain custom scripts to automate security processes and streamline incident response workflows.
  • Analyze logs, network traffic, and system behavior to detect potential security breaches and anomalies.
  • Support deployment, configuration, and optimization of security tools such as SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and EDR solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and other security teams to maintain consistent security practices and implement protective measures.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and help improve SOC operations.

Requirements

  • Experience working in or running a SOC.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages for automating security tasks.
  • Experience with on-prem firewall rule configuration, including Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience working across on-prem and cloud environments such as VMware, AWS, and Azure.
  • Experience with SIEM or security log analysis tools such as Splunk, ELK, or Sumo Logic.
  • Experience with XDR, DLP, and UBA tools and concepts such as Cortex and CrowdStrike.
  • Good understanding of network protocols and system security.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
