Description

  • Own the frontend architecture and implementation of the core member-facing product.
  • Partner with product and design to translate product vision into polished, performant interfaces.
  • Build member-focused experiences with strong attention to load times, interaction quality, and detail.
  • Set standards for frontend code quality, component architecture, and design system usage across the team.
  • Write code that is maintainable, extensible, and easy for other engineers to build on.
  • Instrument the frontend for performance and reliability, and identify issues before members are affected.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate prototyping, code review, and documentation.
  • Contribute perspective on how AI can enhance the member experience through personalization and adaptive coaching flows.
  • Collaborate closely with a small senior team to make product decisions without heavy management layers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of frontend engineering experience, with significant time on consumer-facing mobile or web products.
  • Deep expertise in React Native or React, TypeScript, and modern state management.
  • Production experience with Next.js, including App Router, SSR/CSR tradeoffs, and caching.
  • Strong design sensibility and ability to work from Figma files.
  • Solid understanding of rendering patterns, performance optimization, and separating server state from client state.
  • Ability to build clean UI from designs, including spacing, layout, and accessibility considerations.
  • Experience operating at the Senior or Staff level, or equivalent scope regardless of title.
  • Experience in a fast-moving startup environment and making tradeoffs between polish and velocity.
  • Experience using AI tools and coding agents such as Claude, Cursor, and Codex.
  • Passion for health, fitness, and coaching-driven products.
  • Experience with health or wellness consumer apps is preferred.
  • Deployment experience on Vercel or Amazon Web Services is preferred.
  • Experience with monorepos such as Turborepo or Nx and multi-app setups is preferred.
  • Familiarity with BFF patterns is preferred.
  • Strong testing habits, including unit and end-to-end testing, is preferred.
  • Experience building AI-powered or personalized product experiences is preferred.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization for mobile apps at scale is preferred.

  • Base salary of $185,000–$225,000 per year.
