Description

  • Design and ship Labs features end-to-end from early concept through implementation and iteration.
  • Own the design craft for your area, including visual quality, interaction design, and edge-case thinking.
  • Set a high bar for visual design, information hierarchy, density, and polish.
  • Prototype rapidly using Figma, code, AI tools, or a combination of these methods.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering throughout exploration, development, and production.
  • Use AI tools as part of the design workflow to accelerate research, prototyping, and execution.
  • Work with Product Managers and Engineering to define problems and shape solutions.
  • Conduct user research and speak with practitioners and patients to inform design decisions.
  • Contribute to product strategy and connect design choices to business outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product design experience.
  • A portfolio of real, shipped work is required.
  • Strong design opinions held loosely, with openness to feedback and challenge.
  • Ability to move between high-level strategy and pixel-perfect execution.
  • Active experimentation with AI tools, including being able to name them, explain use cases, and show outputs.
  • Comfort with code and curiosity about how developers work.
  • Experience working without fully scoped requirements and finding that energizing.
  • Systems thinking paired with attention to the details that make products feel great to use.
  • Experience building something with AI that has actually shipped, or being very close to shipping it.
  • Background in diagnostics, healthcare, or clinical products is preferred.
  • Public design artifacts such as side projects, prototypes, open-source contributions, or writing are preferred.
