Description

  • Build and own core operational data models in the enterprise data warehouse that power DC performance tracking and monitoring.
  • Design scalable transformation logic using dbt and SQL for workforce activity, throughput, labor productivity, and performance models.
  • Partner with Distribution Center Operations and Customer Experience leaders to turn operational workflows into measurable data assets.
  • Define and implement trusted metrics for operational efficiency, service quality, workforce performance, and fulfillment reliability.
  • Ensure operational data pipelines are tested, documented, production-grade, and maintainable.
  • Support capacity planning, forecasting, optimization, and other advanced modeling efforts with Data Science partners.
  • Act as a senior technical voice for operational analytics engineering by shaping modeling standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Operate independently as the primary data infrastructure owner for operational performance initiatives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or advanced operational analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience working in modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining transformation layers using dbt or similar ELT tools.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts including grain, fact tables, dimensions, and schema design.
  • Experience working with operational, warehouse, logistics, fulfillment, or supply chain datasets in execution-heavy environments.
  • Experience building production-grade data models that support performance monitoring and operational decision-making.
  • Ability to translate complex workflows into structured, measurable metrics.
  • Comfort partnering directly with operational leaders and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with Python or R and large analytical datasets is a plus.
  • Experience modeling workforce productivity, labor efficiency, or capacity planning is a plus.
  • Exposure to forecasting, optimization, simulation, or applied operations research is a plus.
  • Experience building near-real-time monitoring frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience defining composite performance models such as quality, timeliness, and accuracy metrics is a plus.
  • Experience mentoring analytics engineers or influencing technical standards across a team is a plus.
