Description

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive test automation frameworks for front-end and back-end services using Python and appropriate tools.
  • Develop automated API tests (functional, integration, performance) for back-end services built on FastAPI.
  • Create end-to-end and component-level automated tests for the front-end application built with Next.js and TypeScript.
  • Write complex SQL queries to perform data validation and integrity testing against PostgreSQL databases.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Microsoft Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Test Plans) and advocate shift-left testing practices.
  • Work within the Microsoft Azure platform to set up, execute, and monitor test environments.
  • Collaborate with development, product, and customer stakeholders to define quality criteria, perform code reviews, and drive testing best practices.
  • Conduct exploratory and manual testing for complex scenarios and usability where automation is impractical.
  • Support UAT, regression automation, production validation, QA metrics reporting, and mentor junior testers as part of continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance and Test Automation in an SDET role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python for test automation with hands-on experience using Playwright with Python (mandatory).
  • Experience with Pytest and BDD/TDD frameworks (e.g., behave); Selenium experience is a bonus.
  • Hands-on experience designing API tests for FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks.
  • Solid experience with modern front-end technologies, particularly Next.js, TypeScript, and styling frameworks like Tailwind.
  • In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL for data testing and validation and ability to write complex SQL queries.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD practices using Microsoft Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Test Plans) and working in Linux command-line environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform services related to application hosting and databases.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, testing best practices, and excellent written/verbal communication skills to work with distributed teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a geographically distributed team; Bangalore-based or fully remote for exceptional candidates.
