Description

  • Design, build, and productionize regression, classification, and time-series models for ETA/ATA prediction and related logistics problems.
  • Develop NLP and LLM-based pipelines for extracting ETA and shipment status information from messages.
  • Own the full machine learning lifecycle, including data pipelines, training, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
  • Work with noisy logistics data such as GPS pings, check calls, and carrier information.
  • Diagnose gaps between offline evaluation results and live production performance and implement improvements.
  • Build automated training and retraining pipelines using orchestration tools such as Airflow.
  • Set up model monitoring and observability systems, including Grafana or similar tools.
  • Replace manual or rule-based processes with ML-driven automation and quantify business impact.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams and communicate results to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor data scientists and engineers while making independent architecture and build-versus-buy decisions.

Requirements

  • Strong fundamentals in regression, classification, and time-series forecasting.
  • Experience with NLP, including text extraction, entity recognition, or LLM-based extraction.
  • Production machine learning experience deploying models that serve real-world traffic.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, including pandas and scikit-learn; Redshift or Snowflake experience is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure, including S3 and EC2, and Airflow-based orchestration.
  • Experience with model monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana.
  • Experience working with noisy, real-world datasets and diagnosing production performance issues.
  • Track record of replacing manual processes with ML automation and reducing intervention or turnaround time.
  • Experience translating model performance into business value and working cross-functionally.
  • Experience mentoring data scientists or engineers and making independent architecture tradeoffs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with real-time or streaming data such as Kafka is preferred.
  • Production experience with LLM or generative AI applications is preferred.
