Description

  • Design, build, and productionize regression, classification, and time-series models for ETA/ATA prediction and related logistics problems.
  • Develop NLP and LLM-based pipelines for extracting ETA and status information from messages.
  • Own the full machine learning lifecycle, including data pipelines, training, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
  • Work with noisy logistics data such as GPS pings, check calls, and carrier information.
  • Diagnose differences between offline evaluation and live production performance and implement improvements.
  • Build automated training and retraining pipelines using orchestration tools such as Airflow.
  • Implement model monitoring and observability with tools such as Grafana to detect drift and degradation.
  • Replace manual or rule-based processes with ML-driven automation and quantify resulting business impact.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams and communicate results to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor data scientists and engineers and make independent architecture and build-versus-buy decisions.

Requirements

  • Strong fundamentals in regression, classification, and time-series forecasting.
  • Experience with NLP, including text extraction, entity recognition, or LLM-based extraction.
  • Production machine learning experience shipping models that serve live traffic.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, including pandas and scikit-learn; experience with Redshift or Snowflake is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure, including S3 and EC2, and Airflow-based training pipelines.
  • Experience with model monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana.
  • Experience working with noisy, real-world datasets and improving live production performance.
  • Track record of replacing manual or rule-based processes with ML automation and reducing intervention or turnaround time.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally and mentoring data scientists or engineers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; logistics, supply chain, or transportation experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Kafka or other real-time streaming data systems is preferred.
  • Production experience with LLM or generative AI applications is preferred.
