Description

  • Lead and monitor internal and vendor staff handling fraud and complaint investigations, including training and performance management.
  • Oversee resolution of complex investigations involving installer, borrower, sales representative, first-party, and third-party fraud.
  • Investigate, respond to, and resolve fraud cases, routine and high-risk complaints, and FCRA disputes.
  • Gather and analyze evidence through loan review, forensic accounting, call listening, data analysis, interviews, and online research.
  • Perform legal investigations at the direction of internal and external counsel and draft first-pass legal responses and recommendations.
  • Develop reporting on fraud and complaint volume, trends, and outcomes with data-driven insights for management.
  • Create, update, and maintain procedures and process documentation for the Fraud & Complaints team.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including opportunities to use artificial intelligence tools to automate work and boost productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to detect, address, and prevent fraud and to develop risk-based controls and prevention strategies.
  • Prepare comprehensive investigative reports documenting findings, recommendations, and actions taken.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in fraud investigation or conducting complex investigations, preferably in a corporate or financial institution setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role required.
  • Knowledge of lending, servicing, and debt collection regulations, including some or all of FCRA, FDCPA, SCRA, Reg Z, UDAAP, BSA/AML, TILA, and OFAC.
  • Comfortable reviewing loan and financial transaction information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with LexisNexis, Snowflake, SQL, DataTree, and Emailage.
  • Ability to identify patterns, anomalies, trends, and suspicious behavior using data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of fraud detection and prevention techniques, relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to present complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or similar advanced certification preferred.
  • Experience with fraud or complaint handling in the solar industry preferred.
  • Experience with fraud detection software and related technologies preferred.
