Description

  • Own measurement of clinical outcomes across member populations, including weight loss, A1c, blood pressure, food insecurity, and HEDIS metrics.
  • Develop and maintain Foodsmart’s ROI methodology, translating clinical outcomes into economic value.
  • Defend ROI methods and findings to payers, actuaries, consultants, and other technical stakeholders.
  • Develop client-specific value analyses based on members’ actual outcomes.
  • Shape value-based care strategy, including target populations and credible performance commitments.
  • Build scalable outcomes and ROI methodologies for new populations and client engagements.
  • Partner with academic collaborators on peer-reviewed research.
  • Collaborate with clinical and care delivery teams to translate findings into practice.
  • Lead and develop a small team while remaining hands-on with complex analyses and using AI tools to increase productivity.

Requirements

  • Background in health economics, actuarial science, or a related quantitative field applied to healthcare cost and value questions.
  • Experience proving ROI and value in telehealth or digital health, or experience transitioning from payer or consulting work into digital health.
  • Hands-on experience measuring clinical outcomes and quality across populations, including HEDIS and chronic condition measures.
  • Deep experience analyzing medical and pharmacy claims data for healthcare cost and utilization.
  • Expertise in healthcare causal inference, including matched cohorts, risk adjustment, and quasi-experimental methods.
  • Experience presenting and defending ROI methodology to payers, actuaries, or technical external audiences.
  • Experience with value-based care arrangements and understanding of credible performance commitments.
  • Direct experience using SQL, R, or Python for analysis.
  • Experience partnering with clinical or care delivery teams to apply analytical findings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advanced degree or actuarial credentials such as ASA, FSA, or MAAA preferred.
  • Peer-reviewed publication experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI-native tools such as Claude Code or equivalent preferred.
