Description

  • Lead a team of engineers building, operating, and improving the employee communication platform.
  • Spend most of your time on hands-on backend engineering, with the rest focused on technical leadership.
  • Design and develop structured, chat-driven workflows within the Flows subsystem.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams across international, mostly European, remote settings.
  • Apply modern software engineering practices such as API-first design, code reviews, automated testing, and exploratory merge-request environments.
  • Deploy and monitor services using Kubernetes, Helm, Grafana, Sentry, and Mixpanel, with support from SREs for on-call duties.
  • Join customer calls with the product manager to understand problems and shape solutions that address common customer needs.
  • Own important technical topics, drive key decisions, and align with other teams in the backend guild.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience working on backend systems.
  • Experience designing, implementing, deploying, and operating event-based backend services, ideally with data-heavy integrations.
  • Strong experience with Go for backend services.
  • Some experience with a JVM stack, preferably Kotlin or Spring.
  • Excellent communication skills for working directly with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Interest in developing your own skills and supporting the growth of your team.
  • Experience working in SaaS startup environments is preferred.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ is preferred.
  • Experience with PHP / Symfony is preferred.
  • Fullstack development experience is preferred.
