Description

  • Serve as the in-house subject matter expert on clinical and commercial pipeline strategy for PI’s AI capabilities.
  • Codify therapeutic pipeline strategy into agentic workflows that can execute autonomously.
  • Define and operationalize the “legitimate patient need” problem end to end, including evaluations, ground-truth sets, and feedback loops.
  • Prototype agentic capabilities by building prompts, tools, and orchestration logic.
  • Partner with engineering to harden prototypes for production use.
  • Help set the technical and strategic direction for agentic capabilities across Flagship and its ecosystem companies.
  • Collaborate with business and strategy analysts to translate strategic questions into agent specifications.
  • Translate emerging agent capabilities back into strategic possibilities for the business.
  • Present progress and findings in research and product development forums.

Requirements

  • PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral-level training in a life science, medical, or related discipline.
  • Deep expertise in clinical and commercial pipeline strategy, drug development, or therapeutic area strategy.
  • Track record of directly influencing portfolio and indication-selection decisions.
  • Significant translational medicine experience through IND and Phase 1, with engagement across late-stage preclinical, CMC, regulatory, and clinical functions.
  • Strong intuition for distinguishing true patient need from commercially convenient framing.
  • Familiarity with pipeline and competitive intelligence databases such as Clarivate Cortellis, EvaluatePharma, Citeline, or GlobalData.
  • Meaningful, sustained use of frontier LLMs in professional work, including structured prompting, tool use, and task decomposition.
  • Comfort reading and writing code well enough to prototype agentic workflows; production-grade engineering is not required.
  • Principal-level operating style with high judgment, high autonomy, and comfort driving ambiguous problems to outcomes.
  • Ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical and strategic concepts to senior leadership.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Background in computational biology, bioinformatics, or another quantitative discipline applied to drug development is preferred.
  • Direct experience building, evaluating, or deploying LLM agents or agentic workflows is preferred.
  • Fluency in a programming language such as R or Python, plus experience with Git and cloud environments such as AWS is preferred.
  • Middle-management or higher experience, including BD-adjacent exposure such as buy-side or sell-side asset evaluations, is preferred.
