Description

  • Translate US GAAP, IFRS, GASB, and other applicable accounting frameworks into software requirements, example scenarios, and test cases.
  • Partner with product engineers, engineers, designers, and QA to shape accounting features across the product portfolio.
  • Research ambiguous accounting questions, make decisions, and document the reasoning behind them.
  • Monitor updates from FASB, IASB, the FRC, GASB, and accounting firms to stay ahead of emerging guidance.
  • Develop accounting requirements, edge case documentation, and example scenarios for new products and new product areas.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, analysis, and pressure-testing of accounting interpretations while validating accuracy.
  • Join prospect and customer calls to explain how the software handles complex accounting scenarios and gather feedback.
  • Write customer bulletins, brief leadership on emerging guidance, and explain accounting concepts to internal teams.
  • Test new accounting features end-to-end and drive anomalies through to resolution.
  • Mentor junior team members and support the growth of the broader team.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in audit or assurance at a Big 4 firm and/or in senior-level corporate accounting.
  • Hands-on accounting experience is required.
  • Strong US GAAP expertise is required.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and applicable international frameworks is strongly preferred.
  • CPA is strongly preferred; equivalent technical experience will be considered.
  • AI fluency is required, including the ability to write effective prompts and evaluate AI-generated accounting content critically.
  • Ability to communicate complex accounting standards clearly to engineers, executives, customers, and other non-accountants.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional working groups without positional authority.
  • Experience making judgment calls on accounting issues and knowing when to escalate.
  • Experience with multi-jurisdiction accounting or expansion into the UK is preferred.
