Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain services written in Go and Python that power ExtraHop’s products.
  • Build scalable and secure platform capabilities for customer-facing workflows and integrations.
  • Develop public REST APIs, database scaling solutions, data migrations, and configuration management across services.
  • Participate in agile development processes, code reviews, and technical strategy discussions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Act as a technical expert and help foster a culture of excellence, curiosity, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Proactively address technical debt and continuously improve the codebase and technical stack.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of professional backend development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Go, Python, or an equivalent programming language.
  • Experience in API development, PostgreSQL database design, or SQL query performance optimization.
  • Experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a self-starter mentality and a track record of technical ownership.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in fast-paced, agile environments.
  • Experience with Django, FastAPI, or another Python web framework (preferred).
  • Experience with cloud services on AWS or Azure, including EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, EC2, and IAM (preferred).
  • Experience with containers and related technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and HashiCorp tools like Packer, Vault, and Terraform (preferred).

  • Salary range of $160,000 to $180,000 plus bonus and benefits.
