Description

  • Design premium structures for new merchant categories, product types, and partnerships from first principles.
  • Validate pricing assumptions and launch decisions when historical data is limited.
  • Build tooling and recommend actions to improve loss ratio performance through claims, premium, and program changes.
  • Partner with Product, Program, Revenue, and Sales teams on new coverage and product category pricing.
  • Own and explain the risk narrative and performance drivers to senior leadership, including the C-suite.
  • Design data models and standards for the Risk Analytics function using modern data infrastructure.
  • Develop pipeline, modeling, and reporting workflows that support risk monitoring and decision-making.
  • Automate manual steps in the risk analytics workflow using AI tools and experimentation.
  • Support measurement of unit economics to inform business decisions throughout deal negotiation and launch.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in actuarial pricing, predictive modeling, or other Risk Analytics-related areas.
  • Strong analytical and data skills in SQL, Python or R, pipeline development, and data modeling.
  • Experience with dbt and Snowflake.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Streamlit.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Relevant actuarial experience, such as ACAS or equivalent exam progress, preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to audiences with varying levels of data and analytics experience.
  • Interest in applying AI tools such as Claude and Gemini to improve day-to-day efficiency.
  • Ability to think beyond the insurance organization and make decisions that are best for the business holistically.
  • Empathy, humility, and curiosity.
