Description

Lead the design and implementation of scalable, maintainable system architecture aligned with business and technical requirements.
Write efficient, maintainable code for backend and full-stack applications using Node.js, Next.js, React, React Native, and Expo.
Design, build, and optimize SQL database schemas, queries, indexing, and performance.
Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, Fastify, or similar.
Create and document RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger for integration with frontend and mobile applications.
Provide technical leadership through mentoring, code reviews, and adherence to coding standards.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in systems, databases, and APIs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including .NET developers and product managers, to deliver software solutions.
Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, processes, and codebases.
Implement security best practices and troubleshoot complex technical issues to maintain reliable operations.
Deploy and manage applications on Azure, including CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Node and React technologies.
Deep proficiency in Node.js 20 LTS for backend development.
Experience with backend frameworks such as Express.js, Fastify, NestJS, or similar.
Advanced SQL experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, including schema design and performance tuning.
Experience with ORMs such as Prisma, TypeORM, or Sequelize.
Proven experience designing, building, and documenting RESTful APIs; GraphQL or tRPC is a plus.
Hands-on experience with Azure services such as App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, and API Management.
Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure Container Instances or Azure Kubernetes Service.
Experience with backend testing tools such as Jest, Mocha, or Supertest and test-driven development practices.
Strong Git workflow experience, including pull requests, branching strategies, and collaborative development.
Understanding of services architecture, distributed systems, and microservices patterns.
Experience implementing authentication and authorization using JWT, OAuth, Azure AD, or similar.
Experience with Sentry and Azure Application Insights for monitoring and error tracking.
Experience with Redis for caching and BullMQ for job queue management.
Must live in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area or be willing to relocate.
Must have a dedicated work area separate from other living areas and maintain information privacy.
Must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection.
Availability to work weekdays 9–5 CST.
Healthcare software development experience is a plus.
