Description

  • Shape and lead program strategy for one or more priority verticals such as health, agriculture/weather, or education.
  • Engage with governments and partners to build trusted relationships that support adoption, policy change, and large-scale delivery.
  • Design, launch, and oversee pilots that test whether AI-enabled approaches improve outcomes and can scale cost-effectively.
  • Translate between researchers, AI labs, implementers, funders, and government counterparts to move programs forward.
  • Build and lead teams by recruiting, coaching, and managing staff and partners.
  • Use evidence, measurement, and feedback loops to improve program quality and learning.
  • Operate in ambiguous, fast-moving problem spaces and develop practical paths forward.
  • Support the development of open-sourced playbooks, toolkits, and insights for AI-enabled programs.
  • Partner with AI labs when needed to adapt technical offerings for underrepresented languages and bandwidth constraints.
  • Advance regulatory, policy, and investment conditions with governments to enable beneficial AI use cases at national scale.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a builder in international development, global health, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of scaling organizations and/or programs and delivering last-mile impact.
  • Experience leading programs or pilots from idea to scaled delivery, including multi-stakeholder coalitions and field teams.
  • Strong people management experience with the ability to set standards, empower others, and build a high-performance culture.
  • Experience working with African and/or Asian governments to drive large-scale change.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to influence diverse partners from AI researchers to senior government officials.
  • Strong fluency with AI tools and an eagerness to experiment with emerging technologies.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, fast iteration, and hypothesis-driven problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize technical ideas for different audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively internationally, approximately 20-40%.
  • Familiarity with LMIC health or agriculture/weather is a plus.
  • Training or early career experience in a high-rigor environment such as management consulting, high-growth NGO leadership, or strategy/economics research is preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; the employer cannot sponsor or take over U.S. visa sponsorship.
