Description

  • Lead design strategy across multiple business units.
  • Help define the vision for the overall user experience.
  • Build new products and iterate on existing products.
  • Balance smaller initiatives with larger strategic bets that improve the product.
  • Manage executive stakeholders across engineering, product, marketing, and other functions.
  • Drive improvements to the product development process with cross-functional partners.
  • Mentor and lead other designers at the Principal level.
  • Participate in the transition toward an AI-augmented product-building model.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of Product Design experience, or 10 years for Principal level.
  • At least 2 years of experience at a venture-funded private startup.
  • For Principal level, at least 2 years influencing the work of others through direct management or indirect leadership.
  • Most experience should be in-house on direct-to-consumer products.
  • Experience working in a high-velocity, experiment-driven environment.
  • Ability to know when to use the design process fully and when to shortcut it.
  • Ability to clearly articulate design decisions with intentionality and rigorous thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure the impact of your work on business outcomes.
  • A strong portfolio showing speed, high-quality execution, interaction details, storytelling, visual polish, and content design.
  • Track record of raising the bar for design practices on the teams you have worked with.
  • Experience leading projects end to end, including discovery, problem definition, ideation, validation, implementation, and measurement.
  • Experience launching 0-to-1 products, not just iterating on existing ones.
